NC STATE UPSET BY UNC
Earlier this week on Monday, NC State men’s basketball was upset by the North Carolina Tarheels at PNC Arena. The final score was 75-65, NC State and their entire fanbase was shocked.
Before Monday’s matchup, UNC was actually ranked last in the ACC standings, so NC State was the obvious favorite in this game. Fans left shocked that night as NC State came out with the loss.
Garrison Brooks for UNC had a massive game with 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Derek Funderburk led NC State with 18 points. Official Statistics – Here.
According to ESPN, “UNC beat N.C. State 75-65 on Monday night, earning a seventh straight road win in the longtime series between nearby schools.”
Also from ESPN, this was UNC Head Coach Roy Williams 880th career victory which surpassed the late Dean Smith on the all time wins list for college basketball coaches.

Hurricanes to be back in action (PNC)
The Carolina Hurricanes are set to be back in action this week Friday 7:30 at PNC Arena ready to take on the Vegas Golden Knights.
According to the ESPN Power Rankings, The Hurricanes are 10th in the NHL power rankings and are, “straddling the playoff line.” This isn’t a great sign for the Hurricanes, after their cinderella run they were able to make last year.
If the Hurricanes can go on another big run, that would not only be huge for the city of Raleigh, PNC Arena, but the whole state in general. After last year, the “bunch of jerks” were able to make a huge playoff run that put the nation on notice. If they can do it again this year, I think the Hurricanes will solidify their place upon the “elite” franchises in the NHL.

On Sunday, February 2nd the Carolina Hurricanes are set to take on Vancouver at 2 PM for a mid afternoon battle. betsapi.com
After those few games, that is about all you will hear out of the Hurricanes and Wolfpack here in Raleigh for a few weeks, as neither team returns and has a home game until Friday, February 14th.
